Why you need to DIARISE Change.

Have you ever paused to consider the power your diary holds over the changes you wish to see in your life? It’s a simple concept, yet one that eludes many of us. We all have areas in our lives that we desperately want to improve or outcomes we’re eager to change. But have you ever taken the time to schedule these aspirations?

Take a moment and think about what’s truly important to you. We often declare that our family is our top priority. Yet, if I asked you to show me your diary, would I find entries that reflect time dedicated to your loved ones? You might profess your undying love for your spouse, but does your schedule mirror this sentiment with blocks of time set aside just for them?

Now, consider your financial aspirations. You say you want to get a handle on your finances, to better manage your money. But where in your diary have you carved out time to review your financial situation, let alone take steps to improve it?

And let’s talk about your business. If you find yourself constantly reacting to events, waiting for the phone to ring, or for orders to come in, it’s a sign that you need to shift gears from reactive to proactive. So, where in your diary have you allocated time for business development, marketing, or sales?

Here’s the stark truth about human nature: if something is an appointment, if it’s penned into our diary with a specific time slot, it is far more likely to happen. Yes, emergencies will arise, and we’ll need to shuffle things around, but without these commitments written down, they’re just floating intentions, unlikely to materialise.

So, take a hard look at your diary. If your priorities are missing from those pages, can you really expect anything to change? If you’re tired of falling short of your goals, missing your New Year’s resolutions, or not meeting your targets, it’s time to start diarising where the change needs to happen.

The beauty of this approach is that once your diary is filled with your true priorities, everything else must find its place around them. Otherwise, your most important goals will be left fighting for the leftover scraps of your time and energy – the moments when you’re least likely to have the capacity to give them the attention they deserve.

If you’re serious about change, it’s time to diarise the change. Make your aspirations a non-negotiable part of your schedule. By doing so, you’re not just hoping for a different outcome; you’re actively creating the space for it to unfold. Your diary isn’t just a record of meetings and appointments; it’s a blueprint for the life you want to lead. So, grab your pen and make your intentions known – not just to yourself, but to the universe. It’s time to diarise your way to the change you seek.
